Notre-Dame du Lys

Following the 1905 Church-State Separation Act, furniture from the Chapel of Our Lady of Nazareth on Boulevard Montparnasse was stored at 182 rue de Vaugirard. Here, a temporary chapel for the patronage of Nazareth was set up. The current chapel was built by architect Mr. Rapine in 1908. On May 2, 1909, the chapel on the first floor was blessed by Vicar General Thomas as Our Lady of Nazareth. During the First World War, part of the building was used to collect the wounded. In 1943, the chapel became the name of Our Lady of the Lilies. It was assigned to the Tidentine Form in 1988. It has been served since 2009 by the priests of the Diocese of Paris who continue to celebrate under this rite.

II/5 - système "Unit"

E1 This organ of the system ‘Unit’ was built in 1971 by J.W. Walker & Son Ltd. It was intended for an Anglican hospital outside London. It was able to be acquired by Notre-Dame du Lys thanks to the generosity of the faithful (around 1990). Volunteers and Father Jean-Louis Gallet went there to dismantle the instrument and brought it back by boat. Remounted near the crucifix on the left aisle of the chapel, it was necessary to build the current gallery where the organ found its final place." An overhaul was performed in 2021 by Nicolas Toussaint (Bretonne Organ Manufacture of Nantes). • Removal of all the piping for dusting and cleaning of the mouths with a brush and vacuum cleaner for the larger ones, and with a dental floss for the little ones. • Dismantling of the console, cleaning the registers and keyboards, sharpened contacts. • Replacement of transistors on the electronic system circuit.
